School canteen
Meals - as the saying goes: "we make very full heads with full stomachs".
Based on the observation that some students live far from school and returning to their village at noon on foot is not easy, the school canteen aims to guarantee all primary school children in Diaglé, lunch so that the Teachers' education is given in the best conditions.
Thus, mothers take turns every noon - Monday to Friday - to prepare more than 30Kg of rice with accompaniment, to serve almost 50 dishes for 6 people intended for some 330 primary school students.
In the long term, the irrigation wells project will complement the daily midday meal with the product of the cultures carried out within the school and a poultry project is being studied in order to raise broilers to provide protein supplement.
The school canteen project also makes it possible to complete the pedagogical project of the primary school by strengthening the calculation skills of the pupils but also by reinforcing the knowledge of health & hygiene instilled in class.
The irrigation / culture part as well as poultry breeding will also be an excellent complement to the educational tool for the teaching staff, this for all classes of primary, from CP to CM2 by proposing a participative management of students under the supervision of teachers of class.
Finally, the association would like to extend this food aid to the two other primary classes of M'Bouma and Tagdiam to which we already provide school supplies every year. However, the annual need for rice is already significant - more than 6 tonnes - and this extension would require doubling the quantity required, ie around 10-12 tonnes of rice per year. We are thinking about it and need your help more than anything!
The Building - historically, the corner dedicated to the canteen was outside, in the open air, posing several logistical and sanitary problems.
In order to prepare meals in good conditions but also to have a room or store bags of rice, oil, condiments and kitchen utensils, the association created - under the impulse of our Italian partner - a building school canteen to greatly improve these.

ZINI Prodotti Alimentari Spa, carried by its charismatic boss Maurizio - is at the heart of this beautiful project which was very close to their hearts in its design and implementation.
The ZINI Company has been a partner since the beginning of 2016 with the ALEDD Association, following a long tradition of mutual aid in Italy and a deep awareness that people are the real resources of this world.

The next stages of this project :
- Also offer the school canteen to other schools close to the Diaglé primary school and which we are already helping with school supplies; Mbouma (about 140 students) and Tagdiam (about 160 students), but also to other satellite schools of these, notably Mborane (about 60 students), Yari (about 60 students) or Latyr (about 110 students). Or 16 tonnes of additional rice.
- To improve the daily life of the pupils of the primary school of Diaglé, with the purchase of food supplement such as eggs, meat, fish or vegetables.
- Find a partner who can help us finance all these additional expenses (rice and fresh produce)
