Health center

Have you ever imagined 300 kids bickering over a playground?

The health hut helps to deal with all the hassles in the life of a school and beyond for the parents of the students and all the inhabitants of the village of Diaglé.

In the Senegalese health system, the Health Unit is the first link in the health chain in a rural village. That of Diaglé was built in 1997 and includes a consultation room and a delivery room but lacks means and are in very poor condition.

ALEDD would like to build a new dispensary for the village of Diaglé, with different health facilities, in order to meet the multiple and numerous needs of a country village.

This project represents a very substantial sum for an association like ours (our annual budget is about 12,500 € or 8,200,000 CFA francs, for all the operations mentioned on this site) and will have to mobilize all the resources at our disposal thanks to our partners over several years.

Thus, the buget necessary for this ambitious project is estimated at 11,000,000 CFA francs in total ( i.e. around € 16,750) distributed as follows:

  • Masonry work (4,343,000 CFA francs),

  • Roof, Doors and Windows (1 884 000 fcfa),

  • Paintings, Tiles, Finishes (2,275,000 CFA francs),

  • Internal fittings, electricity & equipment (2,048,000 CFA francs).

This therefore represents a very large budget for ALEDD, but we estimate the expenditure necessary for Diaglé, complementary and in line with all the projects we have carried out so far, centered around children, parents and villagers.

ALEDD's objective for Diaglé's Health Center is multiple:

  • Rebuild the Health Unit by adding a consultation office (1), a patient waiting room (2), a patient rest room (3), a dispensary (4) and a supply of medicines (5) ,

  • Add with the available space, two delivery rooms (6), a post-delivery rest room (7), a nursery (8), a waiting room for visits (9) and sanitary facilities (10) ,

  • Supply essential medicines authorized to be dispensed by the nurse,

  • Include the structure in regional and national health programs such as the SANTE-CITIZENS days and first aid training for the population.

And who knows, maybe we will arouse vocations among the students to be doctors or nurses?

Help us realize this project!
