School supplies

The DIAGLE school, located on the outskirts of the village, welcomes around 330 primary school pupils from all around the village. Like all schools, back to school requires students and their families a number of school supplies which represents a significant budget at this time of the year, especially in rural areas since the main source of income being related to agriculture .

 

Since 2009, the founders of the ALEDD association have been helping with their respective individual means. Then, since 2015 is organized around the associative structure, ...

 

The Diaglé school has become the benchmark for academic success in the Fatick region with 93.75% success in the entrance examination for the 6th year. School dropout, especially of girls, has dropped significantly.

 

These changes have also led to an increase in the number of children attending school in Diaglé. Indeed, with its reputation, the Diaglé school now attracts children from the two schools in the neighboring villages (M'bouma and M'belakadio), children who can walk up to 5 km to come to school. .

The buildings - located on the outskirts of the Village, L'Ecole de Diaglé is made up of 3 main buildings for classrooms and offices and arranged in a U shape.

 

The playground is large and can accommodate some 330 students and their teachers. In order to protect the pupils and the equipment, a surrounding wall surrounds the school and a main portal completes the whole.

 

The teachers - no school that works properly and reap results without a motivated and voluntary teaching team.

 

Around their young & dynamic director - Ngor DIOP - the 8 school teachers and assistants appointed to the school teach the subjects essential to the construction of some 300 Diaglé students. The subjects taught are numerous, from French to mathematics, including education in science and social life, physical education and sports, art as well as languages ​​such as Arabic and Serer.

School governance - an original initiative, less known and applied in Europe, the School Government is THE participative structure which allows students to get involved in the proper functioning of the school.

 

Several objectives are assigned to each position and the student, helped by his comrades and teachers, must implement them which allows to cultivate in each student, good management, participation and taking responsibility to improve learning conditions.

 

 

 

Students - What would Diaglé's school be without their 330 or so students, boys and girls, who, equipped with school supplies at the start of the year, regularly attend classes throughout the year.

In addition to the primary school in Diaglé and in order not to create an imbalance between classes and schools, the association also provides assistance to two satellite schools from that of Diaglé in order to extend its aid to pupils.

School materials - these are purchased locally to promote the local economy and avoid costly shipping from France. Each student in each class is provided with all the necessary school material - list reviewed each year with the teachers and corrected according to the means available at the start of the school year.

The next stages of this project :

 

- Offer materials to satellite schools of the Diaglé school such as those of Mborane (about 60 students), Yari (about 60 students) or Latyr (about 110 students).

 

- Find a partner who can help us finance these additional expenses
